The Great Big Eid Card Swap 2021

The Great Big Eid Card Swap 2021

WHAT IS THE GREAT BIG EID CARD SWAP?

You send an Eid card via snail mail to a card swap buddy we assign you and in return you receive an Eid card from a card swap buddy.

It's so much fun to receive holiday cards in the mail but this year amidst social distancing, exchanging cards is even more meaningful.

With mosques shut down and in-person holiday parties cancelled, our card swap is a way for us to still stay connected to our beautiful community this Ramadan!

HOW DOES THE SWAP WORK?

Sign up to participate by March 19th, 2021, 11:59pm EST using our sign up form.

You'll be notified of the the card swap buddy assigned to you by March 22nd, 2021, 11:59pm EST.

Mail out your Eid card to the card swap buddy assigned to you by April 12th, 2021.

GOT MORE QUESTIONS?

Can I still sign up after March 19th, 2021, 11:59pm EST?

Unfortunately, no. But if you love the idea of participating in a swap, you can still organize one with your family/ friends or check back again next year to see if we're hosting another swap!

I signed up on time but now I want to back out of the swap or cancel last minute.

We understand emergencies happen. Send us an email and let us know.

I'm uncomfortable disclosing my full name and mailing address.

This activity might not be the right fit for you then. Post offices will send back mail that doesn't have the full name (or at least the first initial + last name) of the recipient. A mailing address is required for the delivery of the cards.

Can I sign up my kids for this swap?

Yes! When you fill out our submission form, just let us know if the recipient is a child/ children.

Can I mail out my cards after April 12th, 2021?

Please mail out your cards on time. Mail delivery is delayed in many parts of the world due to COVID-19 and we want our card swap members to be able to receive their cards during Ramadan, and definitely before Eid al Fitr.

Can I mail out my cards before April 12th, 2021?

Yes of course! And if you're assigned an address in Europe, Asia or Africa we'd actually love it if you sent out your cards earlier to those recipients.

Am I sending cards within the US? Can I request to send only to US addresses?

Most participants will be from the US. However, some participants may be from Canada, UK and other parts of the world. Unfortunately, at this time we can't take requests for US addresses only.

How will I know my cards were received?

For the privacy of our participants, we aren't able to facilitate follow ups to check if your card was received or not. Have good faith that your cards were received (especially if they aren't returned to you in the mail after a couple of weeks).

If you want, when writing your card to your recipients include your social media handle or email in your message to your recipient. Maybe they'll reach out to you directly to let you know they loved your card. (But please don't be disappointed if they don't.)

What kind of cards can I send?

Any kind of Ramadan or Eid cards! We have a great selection for you to choose from.

Can I share photos of the cards I'm sending/ or receiving on social media?

Of course! Please use the hashtag #hhdeidcardswap and just be sure to keep the mailing addresses covered up in the photo for the privacy of our participants.
